Surespan & DLB Cranes on Grouse Mountain
September 29, 2009

Surespan Construction's & DLB Cranes' most experienced Crane Operators and Critical Lift Crew joined up with Lietner-Poma to build Grouse Mountain's wind turbine last week.

DLB provided two cranes; a 130t 3130 Linkbelt All Terrain Crane and a 300t 1280 Liebherr Hydraulic Crawler Crane.

The Surespan and DLB Team consisted of Devlin Fenton (Project Manager), Angela Bester (Safety Manager), Donovan Ducharme (Equipment & Logistics Manager), Ryan Beers (Red Seal Crane Operator and Critical Lift Supervisor), Ralf Notheis (Red Seal Crane Operator) and Errol Peters (Red Seal Crane Operator).

The lifts were well-orchestrated thanks to careful coordination and planning between Grouse Mountain, Lietner-Poma and Surespan/DLB. The wind turbine, which will supply 25% of Grouse Mountain's power, was erected in 4 days.

Many local news stations, in addition to the Discovery Channel, were present to film the event.

Well done to everyone involved!
