Environmental Policy

For over thirty years, Surespan Construction has been committed to responsible, environmentally-friendly construction and bridge building practices. Surespan Construction has gained extensive experience building structures under challenging environmental conditions, from constructing bridges over active spawning channels to building over streams in fragile, old growth forests.

We treat all of our bridge building and construction projects as environmentally-sensitive, regardless of their size or stature. From project start to completion, Surespan Construction takes the necessary precautions to mitigate possible environmental threats from happening at or around the job site. We believe in working closely with the client, applicable government agencies and the general public to ensure all environmental issues and concerns are addressed and subsequently protected throughout each phase of the project. Surespan Construction will stringently abide by all relevant legal environmental permits and conditions issued and/or enforced by the client, provincial and/or federal government agencies involved in the project.

We have educated our Superintendents and Crew employees to keep an eye out for environmental threats while on the job. All employees out on the field are to report threats and take the necessary precautions to prevent harm to the environment. Superintendents are responsible for communicating with the clients' Environmental Monitors, Engineers, etc. in order to clarify any environmental or geographical issues that may result from construction work.
